Problems with two-step verification

Problems with logging into myIR

Reset your two-step verification method

If you have set up only 1 two-step verification method, such as email, and you can no longer access it to get your security code, you will need to call us to have your two-step verification reset. Only the myIR account owner can do this.

General enquiries and myIR support - contact us

Once reset, you will be prompted to set up two-step verification next time you log into myIR.

Update or change your verification method

Log into myIR then select 'Manage my profile', then the Security tab.

In the Security section, you can update your verification methods, including:

  • password
  • email
  • passkey
  • authenticator app
  • text message.

Add an email or mobile number verification method

If you want to get your security code by email or mobile phone, in myIR select 'Manage my profile', then the Security tab.

Select ‘Use email’ or ‘Use text message’.

Your current email or mobile number will be shown. You can edit it if needed.

Click ‘Save'.

You will receive a myIR security code to your selected method. Enter the security code on the myIR screen and click 'Confirm'.

Remove email or mobile number verification method

In myIR, select 'Manage my profile', then the Security tab, then select ‘Manage email’ or ‘Manage text message’.

Click the ‘X’ next to the email address or mobile number to remove it.

Confirm by selecting ‘Yes’.

Update an email or mobile number verification method

If you would like to update your email or email address, follow the steps to remove an email or mobile number, and then add a new one.

To add an authenticator app

Download an authenticator app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Popular options include Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator.

In myIR, go to ‘Manage my profile’, then Security tab and select ‘Set up authenticator app’.

In your app, select ‘Add account’ and scan the QR code shown in myIR. If you cannot scan the QR code, manually enter the code displayed.

Enter the 6-digit code from your app into myIR and click ‘Confirm’.

You can choose to ‘Trust this device’.

Remove an authenticator app

In myIR, go to Manage my profile, then the Security tab. Select ‘Manage authenticator app’.

Click the ‘X’ next to the date the app was added.

Confirm by selecting ‘Yes’.

You can add a new authenticator app by removing the existing authenticator app and then adding a new one.

Using a passkey to log into myIR

Passkeys allow you to log into myIR using your fingerprint, face, or screen lock, like a PIN, instead of your username and password.

Managing access for other users

If you are the owner or administrator of a myIR account, and you manage access for user or administrator logons created for other employees, you can reset their two-step verification settings for them. When you do this, the employee using the logon will receive an email advising that their two-step verification has been reset.
