Working for Families in-work tax credit | The government has announced a temporary increase of $50 a week to the in-work tax credit from 1 April. Find out more: In-work tax credit increase from 1 April

Our debt collection activity continues alongside targeted campaigns across several sectors, including construction. These campaigns are focused on GST and PAYE debt.

From late March, some customers in the construction sector may notice:

  • an increase in phone calls if there is outstanding debt
  • an increased Inland Revenue presence, including site visits across the country from 30 March.

These visits focus on helping employers understand and meet their obligations, providing education, and supporting them to address outstanding returns and tax debt.

We are actively promoting our business seminars and also reminding tradies that support is available through our Tax Toolbox.

We have recently issued a Revenue Alert on the failure by some employers to pay PAYE deductions. Revenue Alerts deal with significant or emerging tax issues of concern.
