If you’ve started a return in myIR but have not submitted it yet, you can find it again by signing back in and opening the relevant account.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • your myIR username and password
  • access to your two‑step verification method (for example, email or authenticator app)

Choose the right account

After you’ve logged into myIR, select the account or tax type the return relates to. For example, Income tax or GST.

Open your returns

In the account, go to 'Returns' or 'Returns and transactions'. This is where myIR shows both submitted and in‑progress returns.

Find your saved return

Any return you’ve started but not submitted will appear as a saved (draft) return for the relevant period or year.

Select the return to keep working on it.

Continue or submit your return

You can:

  • continue completing the return
  • submit it when it’s ready
  • or leave it saved and come back later

If you cannot find your return

Check that:

  • you’re in the correct tax type
  • you’ve selected the correct period or year.

If you still cannot see it, you may need to start the return again.
