Online marketplaces must report to us by 7 February following the end of the calendar year, in myIR.
We cannot provide extensions to the reporting due date. It’s important New Zealand meets its international obligations.
Frequency and reporting format
You must report:
- annually for each year ending 31 December
- information shown in quarterly periods
- on or before 7 February
- using the OECD model rules XML Schema.

Before you start
Make sure you have a DPI account in myIR.
Choose how you’ll report from these 2 options.
- XML file upload — limited to 200MB an upload.
- Excel template – limited to 1,000 sellers an upload. Make sure you use the latest version provided in myIR.
To correct reported information, use these same methods.
For XML filers, please note that MessageRefId and DocRefId elements must begin with the reporting platform's IRD number, followed by a full stop (period), and then a unique identifier. For example: ###-###-###.[unique identifier]
In myIR, go to your DPI account
Choose your reporting option
Select Report by Excel file or XML file upload.
Upload your file
Submit your report
Log in to myIR
