Net Inland Revenue GST statistics

The net Inland Revenue GST statistics reports the number of GST taxpayers by turnover band and the net GST collected by Inland Revenue by turnover band.

We update these statistics annually. You can download the data from 2001 to 2026 on the Net Inland Revenue GST statistics datasets page.

The latest update uses data extracted from Inland Revenue systems on 14 August 2026, updates information for the 2021-2025 March years and adds new information for the 2026 March year.

Net Inland Revenue GST by turnover band In the year to March 2026, net Inland Revenue GST totalled $29,808 million, up 4.2% on last year. In the previous year to March 2025, net Inland Revenue GST grew by 1.2%.
Number of GST filers by turnover band In the 2026 tax year there were 681,343 taxpayers registered for GST and filing returns. This number is a 0.8% increase from the 2025 tax year.
