FamilyBoost entitlement depends on family income. We need both parents’ returns to be filed before we work out the entitlement.
FamilyBoost claims cannot be processed until either you or your client complete an Income tax return – IR3 or our ‘income tax – more information’ request.
To help eligible families get their entitlement quicker, we encourage you to review your unfiled returns report and file income tax returns as soon as possible.
Delays in filing can cause delays in processing FamilyBoost claims.
To help, you can:
- Identify which clients have been issued income tax – more information requests via your unfiled returns report. Agency reports > unfiled returns report.
- Review and confirm the income recorded is correct and finalise the assessment.
- Encourage your client to complete their income tax assessment themselves in myIR.
- Delink the client. Next year we will deal with the client directly.
