Planned system outage - 12 September 2026 | Our online services including myIR, self service phone lines and gateway services will be unavailable on Saturday 12 September, 2026 from 1pm to approximately 10.30pm while we complete a planned system update. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Find out what your income tax assessment will show you, when you may get any refunds due and the final date to pay any tax owing.

What your assessment shows

Your income tax assessment will show you your end of year tax position.

When you get your income tax assessment you’ll see if you:

  • are due a refund
  • have tax to pay
  • have paid the right amount of tax during the year.

Check your assessment. If your income or Working for Families (WFF) details are wrong tell us about any changes. Updating your details for WFF ensures that you receive your correct entitlements.

If you're due a refund we'll pay it into your bank account from late May to the end of July when we process income tax assessments.

If you owe tax or Working for Families you must pay it by 7 February. If you have a tax agent, you'll need to pay by 7 April.
