Community detention in tax case

An Auckland woman has been sentenced to community detention for failing to pass on PAYE deductions to Inland Revenue.

Bella Bubs Prictor was sentenced to six months community detention when she appeared in the Manukau District Court on April 4.

Prictor ran a labour supply business (Aquarius 2020 Limited) which is now in liquidation.

The total employer deductions made by the company, but not passed on to Inland Revenue by the due dates, was nearly $960,000 ($959,240.29)

Prictor paid a total of $878,785.41 in reparation, with $400,000 of that paid by liquidators.
