We have successfully completed our system update.

Our online services (including myIR and gateway services) and our self-service voice channels are now available. Our offices and phonelines will be back to normal on Monday 6 October.

Key changes

Changes you might be interested in include:

  • Upfront employment information (PAYE/Payroll) validations. If there are errors in the employment information you will be prompted to resolve the errors before it will submit.
  • PayWay is no longer a supported method of repaying student loans. Ongoing direct debits set up for student loan account balances have automatically transitioned to the new provider and will extend automatically until the total loan is repaid.
  • myIR collections case panel - a new panel in myIR will show details of any debt, excluding child support.
  • Password error messages will now have more details and in some cases additional reasons why the password is not acceptable.

IRD number applications

We’ve simplified the individual IRD number application process to make it more intuitive for our customers.

The paper forms IRD number application – currently in New Zealand - IR595 and IRD number application - offshore individual - IR742 will have clearer layouts, making them more user-friendly.

Applicants in New Zealand should use IR’s online service or the IR595 form. Applicants not in New Zealand should use the IR742 form.
