Temporary system outage 4-5 October

We are updating our tax and social policy system over the weekend 4-5 October from 9pm Saturday 4 October to approximately 3pm Sunday 5 October 2025.

Services

You will not have access to myIR, self-service options and gateway services during this time.

Our website will be available and you can make payments through your bank as normal.

Services will be back to normal on Monday 6 October 2025.

FamilyBoost

If you’re trying to register or submit claims in the weekend of 4-5 October, you may have to wait until Monday 6 October.

Drafts in myIR

The system will delete myIR Individual registration web request drafts not completed before 29 September.

All other saved drafts in myIR will be available after the shutdown.

Key changes

The below changes might be of interest when services resume.

• Upfront Employment Information validations.
• Ongoing direct debits set up for student loan account balances will extend automatically until the total loan is repaid.
• Changes to myIR to show debt collections activity - excluding child support.
• New versions of the Individual IRD number application forms: IRD number application – currently in New Zealand – IR595 and IRD number application offshore individual – IR742.
