Why BIC codes matter
BIC codes help us tailor our messages, products and services to customer and industry groups.
The right BIC code also ensures your clients pay the right amount of ACC.
If you have a customer master link, you can add, update and cease BIC codes in myIR.
Here are the steps to view or manage a client’s BIC code.
- Log in to myIR and access the client.
- Go to the ‘I want to’ section and select ‘Manage your BIC code’.
You can also update a client’s BIC code when filing an income tax return in myIR.
Using gateway services
If you use software that has implemented the BIC API, you can add, update and cease BIC codes in gateway services.
