From 1 June 2024, when making payments at any Westpac bank customers will be required to identify themselves by providing their name and in some cases their phone number.
This change in process is to ensure Westpac is meeting the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act (AML/CFT) obligations.
