Budget 2024: The Government has announced FamilyBoost, a proposed new childcare payment to help eligible families with the rising costs of Early Childhood Education (ECE). Find out more: Beehive.govt.nz

In February or March, you will receive either a notice of entitlement, letting you know what your payments will be from 1 April (the start of the new tax year), or a letter, asking you to provide more income information so we can finalise your notice of entitlement.

If you receive a notice of entitlement, it will show you what your payments will be from 1 April. If the details in your notice are correct, you do not need to do anything. You will receive payments automatically from 1 April. If any of the details are incorrect, please update them in your myIR account.

If you receive a letter, it will tell you what information we need to finalise your notice of entitlement. You will need to check the letter and update your income information by 1 April, or your payments will stop. Your payments will only restart when you have confirmed your income information with us.
