If you got a ‘Child support to pay’ notice, a parent or carer has applied for child support for a child living with them and has named you as a parent.

Or, if you were receiving child support for this child, it can mean income or living arrangements have changed so you are now the paying (liable) parent.

This means you need to start paying child support. The notice will tell you when your first payment is due.

Making payments

Working out how much you should pay

The child support formula uses your income and the child’s living arrangements to work out how much you need to pay.

If you think we made a mistake

We accepted the application based on the information we had at the time. Contact us if you think something about your notice is wrong, and we’ll talk about options for getting it right.

For example, if your income or care arrangements are wrong.
