If your client has been issued an 'Income tax – more information’ request, please check and complete it as soon as you can. This will help your client to be aware of their tax position and receive any refund they may be entitled to, including Working for Families.
Your Unfiled returns report will help you to work out which clients still have 'Income tax – more information requests' that need to be checked and completed.
What you need to do
Before 31 March 2024, confirm your clients’ income is correct and add any additional income and expenses.
Ensure your clients’ bank account details are up to date so that any credits can be refunded directly to their account. The page below has more information.
You can finalise the assessment in myIR. If you are using Gateway Services to file income tax returns, you may be able to change and finalise the more information request using your software. Talk to your software provider to see if this is possible.
