The Working for Families (WFF) statistics section has reports on entitlement to WFF during an income tax year. The statistics include number of families receiving WFF, number of children supported, total entitlement amounts, and average entitlement amount per family.

About Working for Families

We update these statistics yearly.

You can download the WFF data from the 2001 to 2023 tax years on the Working for Families statistics dataset page. Data for the 2020 to 2022 tax years has been adjusted since the last release.

The 2023 release includes a new table on the number of children for whom Working for Families tax credits are paid and a distribution of families by the number of children for whom Working for Families tax credits are paid. Data is available from 2020 to 2023 but is not available prior to 2020.

The latest update uses data extracted from Inland Revenue systems on 7 September 2024.
