Planned system outage | Our online services (including myIR and submitting information using software providers) will be unavailable from 6am Saturday 14 to around 6pm Sunday 15 March while we complete some system upgrades. Planned system outage in March 2026

The Working for Families (WFF) statistics section has reports on entitlement to WFF during an income tax year. The statistics include number of families receiving WFF, number of children supported, total entitlement amounts, and average entitlement amount per family.

We update these statistics yearly. The latest update uses data extracted from Inland Revenue systems on 3 September 2025.

You can download the WFF data from the 2001 to 2024 tax years on the Working for Families statistics dataset page. Data for the 2020 to 2023 tax years has been adjusted since the last release.

The 2024 release introduces a new table providing an income distribution of Working for Families recipients. Data is available from 2020 to 2024.

Technical information is provided on the explanatory notes tab of the spreadsheet containing the statistics.
