You're a client when ACC pay someone to help you around your home.

You're a carer when ACC pay you to provide help around an ACC client's home.

As an ACC client or carer you may need to:

  • keep records of payments for 7 years
  • file a tax return at the end of the year.

What you need to do depends on who pays the carer – ACC or the client.
