You may be able to pause your KiwiSaver contribution or withdraw money from KiwiSaver early, if you are in financial hardship.

A savings suspension is a temporary pause of deductions from your wages for up to 12 months.

If you have been contributing for more than 12 months, you can apply for a savings suspension in myIR. If you have been contributing for less than 12 months you will need to contact us to talk about it.

Apply for a KiwiSaver hardship withdrawal 

If you are facing financial hardship, you can apply to withdraw money from your KiwiSaver. 

If you have been contributing for longer than 2 months you will need to contact your Scheme Provider.
