If you're registered for an online services account, you can update your address and phone number online straight away.

About this service

We need your correct details so we can give you information. You can change your address, phone number and email details quickly and easily, through 'myIR Secure Online Services'.

When to use this service

You can also change your address and phone number through New Zealand Post's Change service and give your new details to other organisations at the same time. 

Your information is stored on a secure password-protected server. When you use this service you give New Zealand Post permission to provide the change of address details to organisation/s you nominate.

How to register

Go to the New Zealand Post website. It will ask you to:

  • set up a NZ Post account using your email address (these can also be used to redirect your mail)
  • enter your personal details (from your  New Zealand driver’s licence)
  • enter your old and new address details
  • select organisation/s you want to give your new address to.

Changing tax addresses

You’ll need your IRD number. You can find this on any correspondence from us, including personal tax summaries, summary of earnings statements, tax returns and assessments. If you can’t find your IRD number - go to "Contact us".

After you finish

If you change your address through secure online services, it will be updated straight away. If you changed your address at the NZ Post website, it will updated in approximately 5 working days.

This service may require you to send confidential information to Inland Revenue so it is located on a secure part of our website to prevent unauthorised interception. If you are unable to access this service, your browser and/or firewall settings may need updating.
